Restore the mind

Hand pick a habit
Or a belief,
Which is straining
Your soul deep down,
Which is holding you back,
Which is gripping your guts
With a unknown fear,
Take a deep breath,
Challenge it and wipe it off,
Fill the empty space with
Hope and positivity,
Get ready to start the new year afresh!

New year, New chapter

Life is like a novel. Every new year is like a new chapter in it. We have the chance to rewrite our character in each chapter. Even though, we can’t change other characters or events happening around us. We can reshape our character to be a new version. We can learn some new skills. We can cut off a fear that’s holding us back. We can be more compassionate towards other people. We can lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Let’s author our character from the scratch, the way we want. Take responsibility for the change, dream it, shape it.

The year fill of surprises

When something is about to leave you forever, you will have more attachment towards it. That’s what I feel today on the last day of this year. Even though you keep on fighting with someone all day long, you will miss them when they leave. When I look back, I have the same mixed feeling about this year. With the pandemic, this year was weird in its way. But it was unique, we will never see the same year again. It has given us its share of smiles and tears.  It was not just another year. It was remarkable to everyone for a different reason. We were able to do work from home all year long, not meeting anyone from our workplace and stayed at home without roaming anywhere and did zero shopping. We wouldn’t have thought of all this as reality before this year. We were able to differentiate the materialistic things in our lives and were happy spending only on necessary things.   Even though it was not a favourite for everyone,  I want to thank this year for giving us a new experience in life.  I am glad that this year is there in my life story.

2021 – An empty canvass

You are full of opportunities
Or full of hurdles,
You are full of surprises
Or full of shocks,
You are full of love
Or full of hate,
You are full of happiness
Or full of remorse,
You are good
Or bad,
You take shape of
Reality or my fear,
I have the full privilege
To paint you as I want !

Have you planned your year ahead

I remember reading this somewhere “New year is like a new diary to be filled”. That’s quite true though. In these 365 pages, we have the opportunity to add as many chapters as we like. We can try new hobbies to find our interest in it. We can find new friends to share our life’s secret. We can find our life partner to hold hands for the rest of our life. We can find a new job of our choice. We can read books from our reading list. We can travel to new places to enrich our experience. We can rewrite the old chapters in last year with a new perspective. Close your eyes and starts planning. Who knows you will end up collecting wonderful memories in this new diary!

Let’s not tag 2020 as bad memory

It’s a new year, a new beginning. Are you quite excited like a child opening the gift to find what this year has in hold for you? I am not going to deny, I am also pretty excited.  Before planning 2021, Let’s look back and peek at 2020 for a moment. I know it’s a tougher year for everyone, thinking it all again makes us sigh aloud. But come on, do you agree every tough situation also teaches us something when we change our perspective?

How simple our life was before pandemic? We worked hard in our job, to spend more on something meaningful like education or our future home, adding memories through the trips, shopping a lot or simply for time-pass like movies and snacks. We believed all this makes us happy or it keeps a healthy social circle.

After pandemic, everything changed upside down. Many people lost their job which they are holding dearer than their life. Many people couldn’t go out on a trip, frankly, living in pandemic itself was very adventurous. Many people didn’t shop, well there was no need for new dresses, pyjamas became our all-time companion.  But none of these stopped our life, it went on in the new normal way.

2020 has taught us many things we weren’t very eager to learn otherwise. Even when you put all your life in the job, it only took a few minutes for the company to lay you off when it comes to cost-cutting. We were living peacefully at home without partying or vacationing. We have realized the expense we were doing all were years like shopping or movie is not at all necessary to lead a happy life. It has highlighted the importance of savings for any emergency situation and also the possibility of not having a job. We got loads of time to spend with our family. Our new normal was like a wakeup call for everyone.

Considering all these, if you rethink, 2020 has taught as much hidden good things and has raised many meaningful questions in our mind. Do you still tag 2020 as simply ‘unfortunate’ year?

Happy new year

Wishlist 2019

What do you want to do in 2019 ?

Did you decide on your “new year resolution” yet ? I would call it “wish list”. Resolution sounds too strict like a rule to follow, but wish list from the name itself make us happy and do.Let’s search something quick from your wish list, which you think have first priority in the list.

Here goes mine “I want to smile more and be peaceful and to pass on that smile to as many as possible. ”

Leave your comments here. Fingers crossed. Who knows an angel might wave its wand in the same time 😉

Thank you 2018

It feels like yesterday since I wrote farewell story to 2017. But it’s been already a year.

When I think about 2018 overall, a peaceful smile plays in my face. Because I had a wish list. At first, I thought this year also, wishes will remain just as wishes. But to my surprise, I have ticked off most of my wishes. Let’s see the list.

  • To complete my short stories book. I have published it with help from my friends. You can check on this quick link.

  • To read good books

I have read many books this year ,one of wonderful book which changed my thinking completelyis “the sapiens” by Yuval Noah Harari. Everyone should read it at least once in life.

  • To stay fit and peaceful

I went on jogging and many long distance running race. It was fun.

  • Stay up to date with current news and to learn investment.

I had attained new hobby with practice ‘Drawing’, which I am very happy about. You can check out my previous posts. Things turned out so well this year, I want to remember 2018 as ” fulfilling year”. I wish I keep up the same energy level for the new set of wish list next year.

Thank you 2018 for giving me chance to sort out my life 😃
