Let’s celebrate being Women, not just women’s day

This is not normal women’s day post. Saying all good things about being women and end it with be proud about it. No I won’t say like that. I generally didn’t ever wanted to write in this topic , in this day. Whatever I have to say , People will read and will conclude it with ‘ Oh yeah , just another women blabbering about the rights’.  I don’t want to get generalised like that.

I Ask every women

Are you happy for being a women ?

Are you proud to be one ?

Are you truly Independent ?

I ask every man

Are you giving women their space to grow?

Are you considering her a burden ?

You don’t even need to answer me , Just be honest with your conscience and answer yourself.

Government is doing a lot , I don’t deny a lot to make us empowered and ensure our safety. But it is making us more weak than turning powerful. If anyone travelled in indian trains , would notice, compartments specially meant for differently abled people , women and general and in bus , seat dedicated to senior citizens / women. We don’t mind all these, as long as we get the seat. Just think about it, We are being categorised as weak people who need support of the consessions like this. People in need getting concession is acceptable. But why do we need that ? Where did that independent women gone now ?

Doing heavy work or outdoor work is for boys. Really , Do you think we won’t be able to do it ? At least you would have thought once in your life,  ” I am women, How am I supposed to do it alone ? ” .  Come on , We have great mental strength girls, We ourself prepare our mind to underestimate ourself. Don’t ever do this to yourself. Be proud to be a women. Avoid the habit of being dependant. Don’t tell your little boy , She’s girl , take care of her. Everytime when you tell this , your little girl will get more dependant. Tell your little girl , She’s as capable of taking care on her own 🙂 Never celebrate women’s day, Feel the pride of being women every single day in your life 🙂  If anyone is already shining like a star above all these messy thoughts,  I salute her from heart 🙂

PS: I did not mean to hurt anyone through this post. I respect each and every person, differently abled person who are amazing people with gifted ability and senior citizen who have years and years of experience in life.

I am Saranya Sridharan, Software Engineer by profession and a passionate author by choice. My hobby was initially just reading and reading alone. Surprisingly, my writing spree was ignited at a Haiku competition conducted by my college. This ignited spark then rendered to offer another hobby “Blogging” into my life. I have been blogging since then for the last 6 years. I like to motivate people, inspire them to be positive in their life. But being a silent girl , i rarely get the chance to mingle with anyone to express my thoughts. So here i voice out my opinions in words. After reading this people will know this silent girl , actually have a lot to tell to this world. I stick to the simple motto in life, 'Express yourself' In any way you are comfortable with . I have started doing it. What about you !!

  1. I agree that we should question our habits of thought and behaviour because it might be more detrimental than we thought. And I am also admiring that you mention men’s role in the process of women empowerment. Thanks for sharing!
